London SharePoint User Group (Thursday 31st March 2011)

The first London SharePoint User Group of 2011 has been scheduled for Thursday 31st March. Seems like quite a long way away but sure it will be with us very quickly, it seems that 2011 is going to be the fastest year yet!

Sign up at the SharePoint User Group UK site (http://suguk.org/forums/thread/26218.aspx)

P.S Remember to add your full name!

Update

Unfortunately I ended up going on holiday in Scotland instead and couldn’t make the user group however Lee Stevens reviewed the event so although I know I missed out, I got a bit of an idea of what the session was all about.

Logging in as a different user in SharePoint Designer 2010

Yesterday I was reading the SharePoint Designer 2010 section of the MVP Real World SharePoint  2010 book. There was this great tip explaining how to login as a different user with SharePoint Designer 2010.

The issue is that the functionality is pretty hidden away!

To login as a different user do the following:-

  • Open SharePoint Designer 2010
  • If you look down on the bottom left hand side you will see an icon that looks like this: image

  • Click on this icon
  • A message will appear saying “You are logged in as DOMAIN\username, Click OK to close all items and login as someone else.”
  • Click OK and you will be prompted for a username and password
