>Google Site vs SharePoint

>Actually I hadn’t heard about Google Sites until I read this post: Google Sites vs SharePoint. Pretty interesting, I can see that Google Sites has some way to go but for the majority of home consumers it sounds like it has a lot of functionality that is useful.
I don’t think its a competitor for SharePoint in anyway (yet!) just because of all the enterprise features that are available with the enterprise search (searching content types/line of business apps), document management, workflow etc…

However it does sound like it will start pushing user interface design, which is where SharePoint is still lacking and is often the first port of call for customers. So that’s not a bad thing at all, it is healthy to have this competition – it’ll just make SharePoint stronger!

>Blog name change.

>I made some changes today to the blog which included using the new blogger layout functions. Which seems pretty good, each time a new feature comes out you can start seeing the comparisions between Google Tools and SharePoint.

However, that is not want this post is about, so we have changed the name to the blog. I used to be called What’s the Point? which at the time I thought was quite cool but actually its a negative statement and kinda stupid. So now its the iThink SharePoint blog… why?

Well because that’s the name of my company and as a blog name it makes sense.

Anyway I will be attempting to post on this as much as possible and hopefully there are some easy to use posting tools which I can get my hands on. If any of you out there have any suggestions please post your comments. All help appreciated!
